Busy...Busy....Busy

How would I describe life for us lately?  Busy....Busy....Busy.

We are down to our final week of soccer for Hannah and Ashley.  We watched Ashley play one of her last three games tonight.  It was such a fun game to watch.  She was soooo close twice of getting that goal.  Oh my gosh.....it's amazing how many times as a parent on the side line I've kicked the ball.  It is so fun to see her natural talent.  She is such the hustler too.  She is all over the field.  Her team is starting to play positions but it still turns into a little game of bee-ball.  That's okay though.  She's only six years old.

On Tuesday, October 4, Hannah scored her first goal!  Hurray!  What a proud moment that was.  I enjoyed seeing the look on her face of, "Oh my gosh!  Did I seriously do that?"  She then followed that up with goal number two on Saturday, October 8.  I know I'm the mom but this goal was beautiful.  I don't think she could have kicked that ball any prettier.

The confidence she has received from these past two games has been incredible to see.  She did have another game this past Tuesday and had three or four great goal shots the goalie for the other team just kept getting in the way!  How fun it is to see that the coaching Dave has given her as to how and where to play her position has finally kicked in!  I am sad that he missed seeing her two goals but he was able to see a big improvement in her when he watched her play Tuesday night.

We have games tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. (Hannah) and at 10:15 (Ashley).  Of course they're not on the same field so we will rush from Wellsville to Hyrum and hopefully make it there on time.  Ashley will finish up her season on Tuesday and Hannah will finish out the season playing on Tuesday and Thursday.  Hmmm....then what will we do with all our time?

The cold bug has hit our house.  It started with Ashley the week of October 3.  I ended up staying home from work with her on Wednesday and Thursday.  She was running a fever, barking like a seal when she coughed and just didn't feel well.  She was such a great kid being sick.  We actually hung out at Grandma Peterson's because there was no need to run back and forth from Mendon to Logan for early out on Wednesday for Hannah and preschool for Nicole on Thursday.  Too bad Grandma was still vacationing or we could have partied!  Kidding.  Ashley rested in Grandma's rocking chair while I actually worked.

Then this week, Nicole started losing her voice.  I knew it was coming and she woke up Thursday morning with the fever.  She didn't have a fever this morning so she did go to Emma's but she still doesn't have a voice.  Her soft little mouse voice is so cute!  She too was a great kid on Thursday.  She watched three Barbie movies while I sat next to her on the couch and, once again, worked from home.

I too came down with the cold this week.  We as mom's don't have time to be sick though.  We just trudge forward and hope it passess quickly!

Life has been crazy here at home and also crazy at work.  Since the end of August I have had deadline after deadline after deadline.  It seems to be continuing clear up until November 14 or at least this is the end of the deadlines that I can see for now until more pile on.

My church calling has also turned out to be a bit more challenging that I anticipated.  Everyone says it's because this is a crazy time of year with the Primary Presentation and trying to get things going in the right direction for next year.  It's been a bit overwhelming to try and keep things caught up and most of the time I feel as though I'm barely staying above water but we keep trudging forward every day.

I cannot believe how quickly the weeks go.  It seems as though our nights are filled with soccer games, soccer practice, TaVaci, piano, homework and reading.  Before I know it, it's the weekend, which flies by and then it's time to start the week over again.  I remember running into a friend at a restaurant and after she asked how old our girls were she commented that we're hitting the busy time of life.  Well... I have to say I agree.  However, it is so fun to see my girls grow and progress.  They amaze me each and every day as to how much they can accomplish and change.

Next weekend brings our last camping weekend for the year.  We're looking forward to it!  Then comes the holidays......and the snow!  So......until then I will enjoy being able to sit outside and watch my girls play soccer.....while Nicole makes new friends and plays on the playground.
