Camping with Friends

We have enjoyed our trailer so much this summer!  It definitely was well worth the investment.  There is a group of 4 and sometimes up to 7 families that have been getting together once a month since April for a camping weekend.  So far we have camped at Crystal Hot Springs, City of Rocks, CC Camp in Black Smith Fork Canyon, and this past weekend we camped at Temple Flats in Logan Canyon.

Dave and the "men" pulled trailers up Thursday night to secure us a spot for the weekend.  They were swarmed by mosquitos so we really thought we were going to be locked up in the trailer.  However, with a bit of fogging, spraying, and tiki torches, along with some Deep Woods off and citrinella candles, the mosquitos weren't all that bad.

We arrived late Friday night to enjoy some cobbler and good chatting around the camp fire.

One of the guys that camps with us, works with me at BATC.  He recently received the "Carpe Diem" awared for being a great employee.  Well, I just could let this go without a little teasing so for our caming trip, I obtained a copy of his picture and made him a poster that I hung up outside his trailer.

On Saturday, we headed down the "other side of the mountain" and enjoyed 4 hours at Bear Lake.  I wasn't really planning to go to Bear Lake so I didn't pack appropriately.  I didn't have swim suits for anyone.  My thought process was we were going camping.....not to Bear Lake.  However, thanks to the Benson's we made it work.  Hannah borrowed a swim shirt and had to use shorts for bottoms.  Ashley borrowed a swim suit from Taylor that was a bit on the small side but we made it through.  Nicole, well, she didn't need a suit.  She was entertained for 4 hours with sand and shells.

And this is what the adults do best......lounge.......

Now this is what I call True Love.....here's Jason giving his wife a pedicure.  Ok....he's actually scraping off her toenail polish with his pocket knife but it's still True Love!

You know your girls had a good time when you're one of the first ones that has to leave Sunday morning to get Dave home in time for work and your two oldest have tears running down their faces because they don't want to leave their friends.

I sure hope we are making some lasting memories for our family.
