Welker Reunion 2012

This year the Welker Reunion was held in Ashley National Forrest.  Who knew there was a Forrest named after Ashley?  Not me.

One of the days of the reunion was spent at Moon Lake.  A good time was had by all.

Good times playing in the motor boat.  Nicole could have ridden in the boat all day long.

Always a good time digging holes in the sand.

Even better times burying Landon in the sand.

Always fun playing in the water.

Memories of this reunion:

The bumpy (I mean really bumpy) road the last seven miles to get into camp

Building Styrofoam bridges and seeing how much weight they could hold.  Would you believe almost 300 pounds?  It was awesome.

Losing our gray water tank off the trailer while driving out on the seven miles of the really bumpy road.

Mia (Erin's dog) and Syrie (Roper's) not really liking each other.

All the yummy food

All the memories made with family

Happy Father's Day

The girls sure love their Dad and I kind of like him too.

For Father's Day we showered him with a few gifts, lots of hugs and a bunch of kisses.

We love you Dad!!!

Hogle Zoo

The girls and I kept our annual tradition of visiting Hogle Zoo in the springtime.  Dave wasn't able to go with us this year so we were accompanied by Grandma Peterson.

The girls finished school the Friday before Memorial Day.  We took advantage of everyone else still returning to school after the holiday and headed to the Zoo on May 31.

Gummy Worm break....

Gotta get a picture by the cool elephant statue that sneezes and sprays water out of his nose.  Nicole was terrified of the elephant.  There was no way she was getting on the trunk to get her picture taken.

Look at the cute baby elephant!  This is the first time I have been to the zoo and heard one of the elephanta make a noise.  The elephant on the right hand side of the picture was very vocal while we were standing there.  Vocal enough that Nicole was freaked out and kept asking if we could go somewhere else.

Don't forget the photos by the famous lion drinking fountain!

TaVaci Spring Concert

May 12, 2012 was the girls' TaVaci Spring Concert.  Little did we know that it would be their last TaVaci concert.  The lady that was over the TaVaci group decided after 13 years to be done.  Her son graduated from the program and her daughter had a couple of more  years but didn't really like it.  We received the e-mail in July where she said she was going to be done and I actually started to cry.  The girls learned so much with this group.  It was am amazing experience.

The girls have since joined another singing group but it just isn't the same.  They could have done the Smithfield TaVaci group but I really didn't want to travel to Smithfield two days a week.  Especially in the winter.  I know that seems rather silly coming from a girl that grew up in Smithfield.

So....here's some photos of the last TaVaci concert:

Hannah
She actually got her cast off the day before the concert.  She was a bit conscience of not getting it hurt.

Her age group did a bunch of songs from the movie Grease

A little Hand Jive

Pretty cool song using black lights and neon gloves

Here's Joseph and His Coat of Many Colors

Ashley

Nobody loves the ump!

You're out!

I don't remember this song but I love the face.

Hang loose!

Nicole

Her facial expressions crack me up!  I could have put all of the pictures on here but that would have made for a large post.  I picked the ones that I thought were the cutest.  She is so dramatic!!!

They were suppose to show attitude in this song.  Ya think she's got it?

I love the tongue hanging out.

Tada....

Parts

Nicole did the punch line of a joke with another little girl

Ashley & Hannah did a joke together about sisters driving each other crazy!  Very fitting!

After the Show

Of course, after the show we headed to Aggie Ice Cream for a treat!
