Footprints

One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Many scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
In each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
Sometimes there were two sets of footprints,
other times there were one set of footprints.......
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, that's right.  this is the original version of Footprints in the sand.  May I now introduce you to Nicole's version of Footprints on the driveway.

I must put this story on my blog so that in years down the road or maybe even months or days I will find this funny because let me say it wasn't very funny tonight.

Yesterday after church Hannah asked if they could go outside and paint some wood blocks with my acrylic paints.  I didn't see any issues with this and it was mainly Hannah and Ashley painting so I was okay with it.  They pulled over a large cardboard box and seemed to do pretty well.

Tonight, Hannah asked if she could paint again.   She painted while Ashley was at piano lessons and then they switched.  Right after dinner both Ashley and Nicole were outside.  It came time to come inside and get ready for bed.  I took Nicole into my bathroom to do a sink bath, which she loves.  I start washing her feet and notice that the entire bottom of her feet are painted....in between her toes too.  So I ask her why she painted her feet.  She told me that Ashley did it.  Ashley was standing there are said, "No I didn't! While I was cleaning up, Nicole stepped in the paint and then walked on the driveway."

What!?!?!

Me:  "Nicole! Did you really walk on the driveway with paint on your feet?"

Nicole (with tears forming in her eyes):  "But Mom!  I just wanted to follow my footsteps."

At this moment I can't decide whether to snicker or be mad.  I  chose upset for the moment and made her go outside and scrub the driveway with her sisters, which by the way, Ashley had gone out and told Hannah what had happened and so they panicked and quickly went outside with the carpet cleaning solution to start cleaning off the driveway.

Nicole went outside to help and thanked her sisters for helping.  I have to say.....one bottle of carpet cleaner later (I think we could have used 1/2 a bottle but the girls were so nervous that they kept spraying and spraying and spraying) the driveway came clean.  Now we have clean blotches along with the rest of the dirty driveway.

I had to take one photo for memories.  Check out these cute little toes!

I will laugh.....in a couple of days.

Easter Dresses

Each of the girls received a new Easter dress this year.  They didn't want their pictures taken with shoes...thus the bare feet.

They each picked out their own dress.  They love the sparkle in them.  The downfall.....all of the glitter left on the church bench.  Oops!

These girls amaze me at how much they are growing up.  They are each so beautiful in their own way.

Easter Morning

We got up Easter morning after driving the girls insane with having to wait to see what the Easter Bunny brought.  I'm pretty sure a few peeks had been made before we were all out of bed to check out the baskets.

Some of the things in the baskets were slinkies, large pencils, slap bracelets, bubbles, pencils, and notepads.

Yep....she's the princess alright.  That's her slap bracelet on her head.

Here's the Happy Dad!
