Spanish Dancing

Hannah and Ashley decided to try Spanish Dancing at school.  This is a club that they do every Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.  They enjoyed trying it for the first little while but then it became too much of a hassle getting out of the house early enough for them to get to practice.  I give them credit for trying.  They did great!  I think they mostly enjoyed to big skirts.  I can't say I blame them.  I would have loved to twirl in one of those things myself.

Nicole decided to shake her booty on the sideline.

Nicole's First Soccer Season

Fall of 2012 was Nicole's first soccer season.  What did she think of it?  Well, she thought socializing was way more fun.  She played a team that had a little boy on it from her preschool.  I caught her many times sitting on the side line "chatting" with him while he sat out.

If she wasn't chatting, she was chasing the ball....way far behind.  Ah, to be four and innocent.  However, when Ashley was playing (not sure why I don't have any pictures of her) Nicole was always on the sideline yelling for her to get the ball.  Hmm....maybe next season she'll take her own advice.

I didn't do very good this season.  I only have one good picture of Nicole and I don't have any of Ashley.  Shame on me!  I have to do better!!

Nicole starts Preschool

Nicole Starts Preschool

Nicole's birthday is in October so she has another year before going to kindergarten.  Aunt Emma decided watching her would be too difficult because she wouldn't have any little ones at home for Nicole to play with.  So, we decided to have Nicole to go all day preschool.   The school decided to go ahead and have her do the kindergarten curriculum where her birthday is so close.

So....off she goes.....

Kiera

In May, Kiera came to join our family so Hannah could do 4H and show her at the County Fair.

We enjoyed having Kiera with us, however, her anxiety issues of being left alone were a little too much to bear.  Sad to say, she returned home to her owner in October after we had exhausted every avenue in trying to calm her down.

While we had her though, the girls loved her.  She was an awesome dog....when we were home with her.  When she was alone.....well....she had her issues.  We were sad to see her go because we really wanted her to become apart of our family but we knew we needed to send her back so she could spend her days with the other dogs and not be so scared anymore.

Here's some pictures we took of Kiera while we had her with us:

The Earring

When we are with our camping group, there is nothing that can't be done.

We were camping in July at Beaver Mountain.  Cheryl was talking about her earring that had grown into her ear because she'd left it in so long and it hadn't been twisted.

Well....only one thing had to be said and Dave went a runnin' for the pliers.  Before ya knew it, the earring was out and a bit hole was left.

The facial expressions on Cheryl crack me up!

Piano Recital

This year's piano recital was later than normal.  The piano teacher tries to have it the end of May or June.  Why so late this year?  She was nice enough to wait until Hannah got her cast off.  Ah, that was nice.  But then we had to wait for vacations to end and then the recital could occur.

The recital was held on July 2.  The girls were transported to the recital in the "limo".  Yep.....the new six-seater golf cart.  We have named it the "limo".  This thing goes pretty fast too.  On the way home, we passed some bikers.  At least they found the humor in being blown past by a golf cart.  They started laughing.

Both Hannah and Ashley did a great job with the pieces they played.  Here's a few pictures of them:

They had to introduce the pieces they were playing.

The only thing I don't like about these pictures......it's the back of their heads!

Here's all of the students for the teacher.
The teacher is the one standing in the back.

Nice tongue Ashley!

What lesson was learned at this recital?  This teacher is all about business.  So....don't be late.....even by 10 minutes and expect to see your grandkids perform.  Yep, Grandma and Grandpa Welker were just a few minutes late and missed both girls.  But they were nice enough to play their pieces again so Grandma and Grandpa could hear them.

I hope Grandma and Grandpa don't get offended that I put that in this post but how can I not......it's for posterity sake.  Hannah just came and leaned down to the side of me to see what I was posting and asked if I was going to put in the wording that Grandma and Grandpa were late.  So....she thought it was classic.  I think it should be journaled.
